Last updated: October 2026. All specs are for men's US size 10.
Most performance basketball shoes are built narrow. A snug fit helps lockdown, so brands taper the toebox and tighten the midfoot. That is great if your feet are slim, but if they are wide you get pinched toes, numb pinky toes and blisters by the second quarter.
The good news is that some shoes really do run roomier. For this list we used lab measurements where we could. RunRepeat pours gel into each shoe, lets it harden, and measures the mold at the widest part of the foot and at the big toe. We also used fit notes from the r/BBallShoes Shoe Database and The Hoops Geek. We left out shoes that reviewers say run narrow, even popular ones like the KD 18 and Sabrina 3.
Weights are for one men's US size 10 shoe. Prices are launch retail.
Our rating: 4.3/5 (RunRepeat lab score 86/100) · Weight (men's US 10): 14.2 oz · Launch price: $120
This is the easiest recommendation for wide feet. RunRepeat measured its widest point at 93.7 mm (the average of shoes they've tested is 92.6 mm) and found a rounded toebox that doesn't taper, measuring 71.2 mm near the big toe versus a 69.2 mm average. Better still, New Balance sells a wide version for even more room.
It is also a very stable, well-cushioned shoe that scored 86 overall, and RunRepeat says it is fine for streetball now and then. It may need a short break-in.
Our rating: 4.2/5 (RunRepeat lab score 84/100) · Weight (men's US 10): 14.5 oz · Launch price: $130
RunRepeat says "New Balance never skimps on toebox space," and the Fresh Foam BB v2 proves it. Its gel mold measured 92.3 mm at the widest point and 72.3 mm at the big toe, well above the 69.2 mm average. It is very soft and well padded, which also makes it good for bigger players. It doesn't have much bounce.
Our rating: 4.2/5 (RunRepeat lab score 84/100) · Weight (men's US 10): 14.0 oz · Launch price: $130
The Luka 3 measured 96.6 mm at the widest part of the forefoot, which RunRepeat called "significantly wider than the average." The toebox is roomy too. Note that its newer sibling, the Luka 4, is a medium-width shoe, so if you have wide feet the Luka 3 is the better pick.
Our rating: 4.5/5 (RunRepeat lab score 90/100) · Weight (men's US 10): 13.5 oz · Launch price: $190
Few Nike shoes suit wide feet, but the G.T. Hustle 3 has a mild taper and a rounded toebox that measured 72.4 mm near the big toe. Add RunRepeat's 98 cushioning score and it is a great choice for wide-footed players who also want comfort. It runs about half a size small, so size up.
Our rating: 4.3/5 (RunRepeat lab score 87/100) · Weight (men's US 10): 12.5 oz · Launch price: $95
The cheaper G.T. Cut Academy has a different shape from the main G.T. Cut. RunRepeat measured a standard width at the ball of the foot but an above-average 72.5 mm at the big toe, with "lots of wiggle room to accommodate all five toes." It is also light and only $95. It isn't the most durable shoe.
Our rating: 4.3/5 (RunRepeat lab score 87/100) · Weight (men's US 10): 12.4 oz · Launch price: $160
RunRepeat found that the Curry 11's rounded tip "gave our toes plenty of space to spread," measuring 79.9 mm at the big toe (on their older test method). It is a light, grippy guard shoe. The outsole is soft, so keep it indoors.
Our rating: 4.1/5 (RunRepeat 81/100 and r/BBallShoes 82/100) · Weight (men's US 10): 14.7 oz · Launch price: $95
The budget Dame Certified is another wide-toe pick. RunRepeat measured 79.5 mm at the big toe on their older method, "accommodating for wide-toe players." It is also one of the better outdoor shoes around $100.
Our rating: 4.1/5 (r/BBallShoes Shoe Database overall 82/100) · Weight (men's US 10): 11.7 oz · Launch price: $100
The r/BBallShoes database describes the One Take 4's fit as "slightly roomy; good for wide," and suggests narrow-footed players go down half a size. It is also the lightest shoe in this guide at 11.7 oz.
Our rating: 4.3/5 (r/BBallShoes Shoe Database overall 87/100) · Weight (men's US 10): 14.0 oz · Launch price: $140
The r/BBallShoes database says the Why Not .6 "fits large" and is "more suitable for wider feet," especially in the PF versions. Most players should go down half a size.
The New Balance TWO WXY v5 is the safest pick, especially in its wide version. If you want a softer, more cushioned feel, get the Fresh Foam BB v2. Nike fans should try the G.T. Hustle 3, or the G.T. Cut Academy if they want to spend under $100.
